Thomas Hugh Allen
On September 27, 1927 in Archer, Tennessee, Mr. Ernest Elbert Allen and Mrs. Ella Mae (Lane) Allen were blessed with the birth of their son, Thomas Hugh Allen.
Thomas, affectionately known as Tom, went to be to be with his Lord and Savior on April 18, 2015. Tom is preceded in death by his parents; his older brother, Lane Allen; a younger sister, Josie Mae Fly; and his daughter, Juanita Sue Allen.
He is survived by his wife, Wilma "Billye" Allen; his older brother James Allen; his two younger sisters: Hilda Nash, and Hazel Hodges; two sons: Craig Allen and his loving wife Connie, and Danny Allen and his loving wife Denise; four grandchildren: Dustin Allen, Chad Allen, Cassandra Gonzalez, and Cary Allen; and seven great grandchildren.
Sixty-six years ago Tom married his best friend and soul mate Wilma "Billye" Sorrell, and to this blessed union the Lord gave three children. Tom was proud of his boys and wanted the absolute best for them. Many would say a perfectionist; but there was never a doubt that the strict structure was because of his love. Because of his structure, you knew he was a military man. Tom served over 20 years in and retired from the United States Air Force. Tom enjoyed golfing and fishing but found the most joy in serving God. There was no question that he had a strong faith. It says a lot about where a man's faith lies by the way he cares for his family and the way he felt about injustices. Tom cared so much for his family and was an amazing husband and father.
Just some insight to his daily routine, he would read the 23rd Psalm every night with his wife. Tom truly had an open and honest heart, he loved animals of all kinds, and you could see the pain and distaste he had when he saw an injustice. He genuinely cared about the well being of others, and he will be remembered for the unmeasured love that he shared with his family and friends.
