The Elks sent Devin Aydelott to the mound versus A-Plus Collision Center in Wednesday night's Marshall Babe Ruth League nightcap and the young right-hander turned in a one-hit gem as the Elks won 11-1.

Aydelott went the distance in the four-inning, run-rule win, giving up one earned run, walking four and striking out four A-Plus batters.

Going wild

Marcus Dotson started on the hill for A-Plus and was wild from the outset, walking the first three batters he faced.

Grayson Whaley made Dotson pay for wildness with a bases-clearing double to make it 3-0 and Aydelott followed with a sacrifice fly RBI, two batters later.

Laramie Plott walked with one out in the top of the second inning and stole second base before heading to third on a wild pitch.

Marcus Dotson started on the mound for A-Plus and drove in the only run his team scored.

Plott would come in to score on a Dotson RBI single, making it 4-1.

The Elks stampeded A-Plus in the home half of the inning, crossing home plate seven times as Landon Darnell, Gauge Anderson, Preston Shelton and Whaley all drove home a run.

Double play

Elks' shortstop Gauge Anderson covers a lot of ground and makes a circus catch to end the top of first inning.

Mitchell Ford and Chandler Gylespie drew back-to-back walks with one out in the third inning, but the Elks got out unscathed when they turned a 5-3-2 inning-ending double-play.

Tristan Maxwell held the Elks in check in the top of the fourth, striking out two batters in a 1-2-3 performance.

Aydelott finished the game in style, setting down A-Plus in order in the bottom of the inning to end the game.
