Velma Mavis McCollum Morrison

Velma Mavis McCollum Morrison, of Tullahoma, Tennessee, passed this life on Monday, July 13, 2015, at Harton Regional Medical Center at the age of 92. Mrs. Morrison was born in Marshall County, Tennessee, to the late Doris and Grace Hobby McCollum. She was a member of Westwood Church of Christ in Tullahoma and always put God first in her life. She deeply loved her family and her grandchildren and was known for her baked goods, especially her chocolate pie and homemade bread. Mrs. Mavis retired from Harton Regional Medical Center as a Unit Secretary after 33 years. She showed kindness to everyone and always helped others.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Travis Morrison; two sisters, Robbie Davis and Dathlene Adams; and two brothers, Foy and Joe McCollum. She is survived by her son and daughter, Randall Morrison and his wife Lisa of Tullahoma and Charlotte Darnell and her husband Wayne of Tullahoma; five grandchildren, Sherry Evans and her husband Steve of Tullahoma; Terry Seckler and his wife Tina of Manchester, Tennessee; Jeff Seckler and his wife Cheryl of Unionville, Tennessee; Kelly McGonigle and her husband Sean of Fort Worth, Texas; and Hayley Lockhart and her husband William of Tullahoma; four great-grandchildren, Travis Seckler, Jennifer MacDonald and her husband Ryan; Jessica Seckler and Julieanna Seckler; and four great-great grandchildren, Cara and Landen Seckler; Easton MacDonald and soon to be baby boy McGonigle.

Visitation was from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 15, 2015, at Kilgore Funeral Home. Funeral services was held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at in the Kilgore Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Dorris Rader officiating. Graveside services followed at 2:30 p.m. at Beechwood Cemetery in Cornersville, Tennessee.
