Jessie Lou Duncan
Jessie Lou Duncan, age 81 of Lewisburg, died Tuesday, July 28, 2015, in NHC Oakwood Healthcare.
Jessie Lou was a native of Lincoln County, Tennessee, born at home in the Petersburg area where she grew up the daughter of Jesse P. and Ruby Lou Pigg Moore. She was a graduate of Morgan High School and attended David Lipscomb College. She was a housewife, teacher, later employed with Buzan Pharmacy and retired from the Bank of Belfast. She was a member of Church Street Church of Christ where she taught various classes for many years.
Preceded in death by her parents, is survived by her husband, Aubrey D. Duncan of Lewisburg; four daughters, Denise (Mike) Cotten of Mount Juliet, Tennessee; Dara (Richard) Schmidt of Birmingham, Alabama; Laura Beth Duncan of Lebanon, Tennessee; and Emily Duncan of Nashville, Tennessee; brother, Bill Moore of Huntsville, Alabama; sister, Mary Jo Tuley of Nashville; two grandsons, Will (Liz) Cotten of Nashville and Andrew (Neely) Cotten of Chattanooga, Tennessee; and one great grandson, Mac Cotten of Chattanooga.
Funeral services will be conducted by Mike Baker and Joe Essner at 11 a.m. Friday, July 31, 2015, from the chapel of London Funeral Home with burial to follow in Lone Oak Cemetery.
The family was at London Funeral Home from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday and at 10 a.m. Friday until the funeral hour for visitation.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the scholarship fund at Church Street Church of Christ, 305 West Church Street, Lewisburg or the charity of your choice.
