Jet lag caught up with the Marshall County Bombers in the opening round of the Babe Ruth 14U Southeast Region Tournament at Jupiter Florida on Wednesday as the all-stars were shutout 11-0 by Tallahassee.

A single apiece by Walker Whaley and Gauge Anderson were the only hits for Marshall County in the contest.

The Bombers regrouped and came back with a vengeance on Thursday, strafing defending champs Greenville, North Carolina 7-3 in round two.

Marshall County banged out 10 hits in the contest and unlike Wednesday where they made three errors in the field, the Bombers played flawless on defense, turning two double plays in the game, including a pretty 1-6-3 double-bubble in the bottom of the seventh inning that iced any Greenville comeback attempt.

Dustin Brashear picked up the win on the mound for Marshall County, tossing the first three innings before Ethan Mealer finished up the game with four scoreless innings of work.

Meanwhile, Tallahassee lost to host Jupiter, making it a logjam in the National Division with all four teams sitting at 1-1.

The two winners of today's games that pit the Bombers versus host Jupiter and Tallahassee versus Greenville will advance to the semifinals.

In the American Division, Gainesville, Virginia is the only undefeated team heading in to today's play with a pair of 1-1 teams in Pitt County, North Carolina and Sarasota, Florida going head-to-head for the other semifinal spot with identical 1-1 records.
