Warrick named All-American
Only Tennessee player to make MaxPrep Team
Forrest graduate Katie Warrick picked up another post-season honor when she was recently named to the MaxPrep's 2015 Small School All-American second team.
Warrick was the lone Tennessee softball player on the squad.
The UT Martin signee led the Lady Rockets to the Class A state title in her senior season as Forrest posted a 35-5 record with Warrick putting up a 32-3 record and a 1.81 ERA in the circle.
Warrick batted .594 with 14 home runs and finished with a school record 51 career dingers.
Warrick won back-to-back District 9-A Offensive Most Valuable Player awards and the district pitching award in 2014-2015.
She also earned Forrest's Female Athlete of the Year and won All-MidState and TSWA All-State honors, while graduating with a 3.93 GPA, seventh in her class.
Nicknamed "Nickles" because she wears 55 on her jersey, Warrick has had another busy summer with her recent escapades entailing a berth in the first ever 2015 USA Softball Junior Olympic Cup Tournament in Chino Hills, California last weekend, playing for the Georgia based 18U Gold East Cobb Bullets.
East Cobb battled out of the losers' bracket to finish in second place in the tournament, dropping a 4-0 decision to the Wichita Mustangs.
The Bullets also finished third in the Triple Crown Sports U.S. Nationals in Reno, Nevada.
On a recent trip with the Bullets in Atlanta, Warrick continued to wow the softball world, hitting three homeruns in three consecutive at bats.
