Ruby Elizabeth Lee Johnson
Ruby Elizabeth Lee Johnson died Aug. 23, 2015 at Vanderbilt Medical Center following a slow decline in health after a stroke. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Thomas Austin Johnson; her parents, Henry Jackson Lee and Elsie Vaughn Lee; 10 brothers and a sister who reached adulthood and six who died as children. She is survived by her sons; Dr. Douglas (Barbara) Johnson of Louisville, Kentucky; Alfred (Joy) Johnson of Prospect, Tennessee; Morris (Patricia) Johnson of Nashville, Tennessee; and Phelan (Denise) Johnson of Franklin, Tennessee; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Born in Lewisburg, she made her home in Aspen Hill and was a member of Liberty Methodist Church. Her home for her last 13 years was at Windlands South in Nashville, where she had a new made family and many friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, Aug. 27, 2015, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Woodbine Funeral Home, Hickory Chapel, 5852 Nolensville Rd. in Nashville. Immediately following visitation, The Eulogy will be conducted by Rev. Jack Simmons. A graveside Eulogy will be conducted by Paul Dalton at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Lone Oak Cemetery in Lewisburg. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to American Diabetes Association or Davidson County Humane Society.
