Lady Rockets blank Crusaders for 4th straight win

Tribune photo by Anthony S. Puca Forrest's Kaytie Price scored a pair of goals in the Lady Rockets' 5-0 over the MTHEA Crusaders Tuesday night at Columbia.

The Forrest Lady Rockets picked up their fourth straight win Tuesday, defeating the Middle Tennessee Home Education Association Crusaders 5-0 in Columbia.

Forrest (5-2, 2-0) led 1-0 at the half before exploding for four, second-half goals to claim the win.

Kaytie Price scored two goals, while Brynn Colvin, Lainey Mays and Rickee Gayle Carter all added one goal apiece.

Mays peppered the Crusader's goalie with 10 shots while Colvin had nine attempts on goal and Price sent five shots toward the net.

Carter had four shots on goal, Ally Amoroso tried two times to score and Haley Lowe, Elizabeth Pimental and Macy Brown all had one shot on goal.

Four of the five goals were unassisted. Carter picked up the lone assist for the Lady Rockets.

Sophomore goalkeeper Jasmine Runk continued her strong play in the net for Forrest, saving two penalty kicks to preserve the shutout.

Forrest returns to action next week when it hosts Huntland on Tuesday and Community on Thursday in a pair of District 9A-AA matches.
