CMS Bulldogs shut out Hornets

Photo by George "Pap" Warren CMS' Alex Hilliard was a one-man show at Huntland Thursday night, rushing for 126 yards and three touchdowns.

The Cornersville Middle School Bulldogs moved to 3-0 on the season, defeating Huntland 24-0 on the road Thursday night.

It was the second win of the season over the Hornets, who were stymied by the Bulldog defense.

Huntland rushed for just 37 yards in the contest and went 0-2 in the passing category.

The Bulldogs rushed for 152 yards and did not attempt a pass.

Alex Hilliard did the bulk of the work for the Bulldogs, gaining 126 yards on 10 carries and scored all three Cornersville touchdowns.

Cornersville scored 16 second quarter points and added a third quarter score for the 24-0 blanking.

The Bulldogs traveled to South Lincoln on Tuesday and return to Frog Bottom on Thursday for a big match-up with South Giles.
