Tigers finish second at district golf tournament
The Marshall County Tigers continued their postseason success on Monday at the Lawrenceburg Golf & Country Club, finishing in second place behind powerhouse Christ Presbyterian Academy (CPA) at the District 12A-AA golf tournament.
CPA successfully defended its district title for the second straight season, shooting a masterful four-man, 4-over-par aggregate score of 288.
CPA had the only two tournament participants shoot under par on the 5,653 yard tract with Grayson Davis leading the way with a 3-under par 69, while teammate A. Jacks Green shot 71 for the Lions.
Last year's top medalist Luke Zieman carded a 1-over par 73 and Gavin Clements shot 75 to round out the CPA foursome.
The Tigers were 43 shots behind CPA with a team total of 331.
Tyler Wunderlin fired an 80 to lead Marshall County, while Wilson Limbaugh had 81, Zach Smith 82 and Davis George carded an 85.
Hunter Bradford was the fifth Tiger golfer and shot 115.
Page finished in third place with 337 as John Korjenek shot 78, John Keller and Jack Emerson had 84 and Jordan Ramsey shot 88.
Davis was the top medalist at the event, Green was second, Zieman third, Cascade's Tyler Huff fourth and Clements fifth.
The Tigers will be back in action on Monday at the Region 6-A-AA tournament at Montgomery Bell State Park in Dickson.
The five individual qualifiers not from the top three teams going to the region event are:
Tyler Huff (Cascade-73), Canyon Pulley (Collinwood-75), Hayden Berry (Collinwood 88), Luke Childress (Loretto-89) and Dylan Canarday (Loretto-89).
