Lady Rockets fall in district semis

The Forrest Lady Rockets traveled to White House Heritage Tuesday to take on the host Lady Patriots in the District 9A-AA Tournament semifinal and their season ended in an 8-0 loss.

Audra Roach scored for the Lady Patriots 52 seconds into the match and it was all downhill from there for Forrest, who could not muster and offense in the contest.

Roach, who would end up with a hat trick in the game scored at the 33:24 mark of the first to make it two-nil and one minute later, Sky Baker gave White House Heritage a 3-0 lead.

Forrest goalkeeper Jasmine Runk was under fire the entire game versus White House Heritage.

An own goal added another goal for the Lady Pats before Roach scored her second goal of the game with 18:20 remaining in the first half.

Roach scored again with five minutes left and one minute later, Meagan Smith scored the first of her three goals in the game to give the Lady patriots an insurmountable 6-0 lead at the half.

Lone chance

Forrest's only scoring chance of the first half came on a long free kick by Brynn Colvin that sailed wide left of the net.

Smith made it 7-0 early in the second half and Colvin was unsuccessful on another long free kick with 27:55 remaining in the game.

Smith tallied the final goal of the game to complete her hat trick with 25:16 left in the contest.

The Lady Rockets finished the season with a 7-4-1 record and claimed the South Division district title.

White House High School beat Community 6-0 in the other semifinal on Tuesday that put them in the district title game versus White House Heritage last night.
