Bobbie Frank Howard
Bobbie Frank Howard, 83, of Hubert, North Carolina, died Friday, Oct. 2, 2015 at Onslow Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2015, at Jones Funeral Home Chapel, Jacksonville, North Carolina, with Rev. Robert Hall officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
Mr. Howard was a proud retired Marine. He retired as a Master Sergeant after nearly 24 years. He was a veteran of Vietnam and also Korea, where he fought in the Chosin Reservoir Campaign.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Lewis Howard and Gladys Worsham Howard; and his first wife, Margie S. Howard.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Padgett Howard; two daughters, Marla E. Howard of Hubert and Patti Praga and her husband, John of Hubert; one son, Kerry F. Howard of Hubert; two stepsons, Stephen Martyn of Wilmington, North Carolina, and David Carroll of Rome, Georgia; two brothers, Lewis Howard of Lewisburg, Tennessee, and William O. Howard of Kuttawa, Kentucky; three sisters, Oma E. Batte and Juanita Smith, both of Chapel Hill, Tennessee, and Carol Webb of Thompson Station, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Jarred Howard, Megan Howard, Lauren Settle and Matthew Martyn; six step-grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2015, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to lung cancer research. Electronic condolences may be left for the family at www.jonesfh.org.
