John W. Hargrove
John W. Hargrove age 87 of Lewisburg, Tennessee, died Sunday, Oct. 11, 2015, after a short illness. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alwyn Jobe Hargrove in June 1998.
Mr. Hargrove retired from Heil-Quaker after 37 years, and was a farmer. He also was employed at General Shoe for 15 years and Lewisburg Casting Company for seven years. He served in the U.S. Army in Panama during the Korean War. He was a good Christian man, father, grandfather, friend, worker and companion. He was a member of the Farmington Church of Christ. He never met a stranger and was enjoyed by all.
Mr. Hargrove was born on March 10, 1928 in Caney Springs, Tennessee, to Laborn Harrison Hargrove, and his wife, Sara Elizabeth Osborn Hargrove. He was the last one surviving of their five children (Jenny Lee, Jessie, Ella Mai, Lydle and Lorene).
He is survived by two sons, Tim Hargrove and wife Margaret of Goodlettsville, Tennessee, and Joel Hargrove and wife, Donna, of Lewisburg. Two grandchildren, David Hargrove and Jessica Hargrove of Lewisburg, also survive.
Visitation with the family will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday. There will be a private graveside service.
