Mr. Gordon Comstock, age 86, of Chapel Hill, Tennessee, died Tuesday evening, Oct. 20, 2015, at his home in Chapel Hill. Mr. Comstock was born in Marshall County and was a son of the late William Clyde and Bessie Weaver Comstock. He was a graduate of Forrest School Class of 1948 and was a life long farmer in Marshall County. Mr. Comstock was preceded in death by his first wife, Lucille Pope Comstock, who died in 1983, and two brothers, James Comstock and Bob Comstock.
Mr. Comstock is survived by his wife, Darthy Comstock, Clarksville, Tennessee; son, William Lee (Pam) Comstock, Chapel Hill; brother, Donald W. (Faye) Comstock, Brentwood, Tennessee; grandchildren, Alicia (Jason) Warner and Jessica (John) Adams, all of Chapel Hill; Jesse Comstock, Pottsville, Community; great grandchildren, Carli, Camreigh and Cutter Warner, Grayson Adams, Luke Comstock; step-children, Debbie (Graft) Hilgenhurst, Brentwood; James Pelham, Clarksville and Kim (Darrell) Melton, Clarksville; several step-grandchildren and several step-great grandchildren.
Visitation was 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, 2015, at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 23, 2015, from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Reed officiating. Burial will follow in Simpson Cemetery in the Rover Community of Bedford County.
John Adams, Jason Warner, Charlie McDonald, Bill Gillespie, Tommy Roberson, Phil Comstock, James Pelham, Darrell Melton, Bobby Copeland, Jimmy Gentry, Jerry Gentry, Dennis Coble and Alvin Ingram will serve as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Misty Hillis, Charlotte Dickens, Lauren Pegg, Stephanie Skinner and Ashley Evans.
