On the evening of Nov. 3, 2015, Jane Swesey passed away in her sleep. Before she passed, she was surrounded by her loving family and the laughter of her youngest great grandson. Jane was 92 years old.
Born July 11, 1923 in Morgantown, West Virginia, Jane enjoyed everyday life on the Grow family farm and carried those down-home values with her throughout her life. On May 21, 1944, Jane married George Milton Swesey, Jr. Jane is survived by her brother, J.T. Grow; her two children, Dean Swesey and Kathy Dyer; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Her final resting place will be next to George in Lewisburg, Tennessee.
Jane was an educator, counselor, seamstress and baker. She was a 50-year member of Lewisburg OES No. 318 and was secretary for many years, as well as a member of Loyalty Chapter No. 145 and past Grand Representative as well as active in Amaranth.
Jane's life will be celebrated in Lewisburg from 2 to 4 p.m. on Dec. 5 at the Dillahunty Masonic Lodge, 131 E. Commerce St. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her name to either the CU Eye Center or the Arthritis Foundation.
