Sweeney collects another post-season award

USA TODAY High School Sports is proud to announce the 2015 American Family Insurance ALL-USA Tennessee Football Team. Players were selected based on their athletic achievements from the 2015-16 season.

Coach of the Year: Scott Blade, Independence (Thompson's Station)

The Eagles had never won more than 11 games in a season before Blade guided them to a perfect 15-0 campaign, capped by a 49-14 rout of Sevier County in the Class 5A title game. Independence outscored opponents 641-171 on the year.


Offensive Player of the Year: Dillon Mitchell, White Station (Memphis)

The Tennessee Titans Mr. Football Class 6A Back of the Year, Mitchell emerged as one of the most explosive offensive weapons in the nation. The Oregon commit caught 81 passes for 1,482 yards and 22 touchdowns, and also ran the ball 64 times for 951 yards and 20 TDs.

The Tennessee Titans Mr. Football Class 4A Lineman of the Year spent most of the season deep in opponents' backfields. Gooden notched 92 total tackles, 27 of them for loss, and recorded 10 sacks.
