Jerry Lee Wilson
Jerry Lee Wilson, age 90, a longtime resident of Cornersville, Tennessee, died January 13, after a short illness.
Mr. Wilson was born November 28, 1925 to Edward Delwyn and Florence Gertrude Blackwell Wilson of Chapel Hill, Tenn. He grew up in the Thick Community of Chapel Hill and is preceded in death by one sister, Edna Crutcher and four brothers: Lewis Wilson, Don Wilson, Hoyte Wilson and James Wilson.
After graduating from Forrest School, he served in the U.S. Navy. In 1950, he married Miriam Williams of Cornersville. He was a career employee of the U.S. Soil Conservation Service in Marshall County. He also farmed and was a talented woodworker. He was an active member of the Cornersville Church of Christ for over 60 years.
He is survived by his wife of more than 65 years, Miriam Wilson, and their four children: Linda Lee Wilson (and her husband Dane Bryant), Mark Wilson (and his wife Cynthia Judge Wilson), Patricia Wilson Bowers (and her husband Jim Bowers), and Sonia Wilson St. Charles (and her husband Paul Clifford). He had five grandchildren: Megan Bowers, Aaron Bowers, Natalie Wilson McMillen (Dallas), Rob Wilson (Frances), and Wil St. Charles (Krista), and two great-grandchildren, Ellie McMillen and Jack McMillen.
Family members will receive friends on Thursday, Jan. 14, 2016 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Cornersville Funeral Home, and again on Friday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. prior to the service. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 15, 2016 at the Cornersville Funeral Home with Brother Don Hudson officiating. Burial will follow in Beechwood Cemetery in Cornersville.
Pallbearers were his grandsons: Aaron Bowers, Rob Wilson, Wil St. Charles and nephews: Randall Wilson, John Wilson, and Michael Wilson. Honorary pallbearers were Robert Pugh, Bobby McDaniel, Jeff Stewart, Bobby Smith, Mickey Chilton and Scotty Brock.
