The remainder of the club competed at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville in the Top 100 Tournament. Landon Desselle and Nick McClendon earned tournament championships with Desselle going 4-0 with a pin and McClendon posted a 3-0 mark with one takedown.

Seth McCoy placed second at 3-1 (pin, technical fall) Micah McClendon finished fourth at 3-2 (pin, technical fall) and Dustin Jett came in fifth with a 4-2 mark, including three falls.

The MCWC will compete at Tullahoma tomorrow in Region 2 qualifier for the State Tournament at Franklin on February 27.

Critical days

"The next few weeks are critical for the club as they prepare for the season end," said Austin Montgomery. "Practices will intensify and be directed toward the finer details of their wrestlers' performance and specific, competitive strategic planning."

The MCWC has multiple athletes that will be competing for championships at the state level, as well as potential National rankings and opportunities.

"This time of year is also exciting as all of the new and developing athletes begin to become more competitive and win more matches," Montgomery stated. "The present and future are definitely bright for the Marshall County Wrestling Club."
