Bulldogs miscues costly in district loss
The Cornersville Bulldogs traveled to Grace Christian School at Franklin Monday night for a District 11-A contest and six costly errors led to a 3-2 loss to the Lions.
Cornersville starting pitcher Graham Duke, coming off a no-hitter in his last outing, went the distance for the Bulldogs, giving up zero earned runs on five hits, while striking six and walking four.
Ben Taylor had two base hits and belted a fourth-inning homerun for Cornersville, who had seven hits off Grace Christian starter Zack White, who turned in a complete game, striking out six and walking one Bulldog hitter.
A Hunter Cozart RBI single for Cornersville tied the game at 2-2 in the top of the sixth inning.
The home half of the sixth began with Kolby Alonzo and Austin Kasick banging back-to-back base hits before a Cornersville infield error led to the go-ahead run.
