Lions Club Golf Tournament planning for October tee-off
On Saturday, October 22, 2016 the chase for the 21st Annual Lions Club Benefit Golf Tournament title will commence at the Buford Ellington Golf Course on the grounds of Henry Horton State Park in Chapel Hill.
For the first time in tournament history, there will be a double shotgun start on the 6,325 yard tract with golfers teeing it up at 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. for the event that benefits longtime Lions Club charity the Lions Club KidSight Program and A Soldiers Child Foundation, which was added as a recipient of the tournament's goodwill last year.
A Silent Auction will be available all day, goodie bags will be provided and a meal will be served after play is completed.
Door prizes will also be given away, but the ultimate prize will be the opportunity to take the title away from the "You Wit Me" team that shot lights out last year, scorching the course with a 16-under par score of 56.
