For the second season in a row, the Forrest Lady Rockets went to Panama City and swept their opponents, beating Niceville 11-5 on Tuesday before travelling to always tough Rutherford and beating the Lady Rams 5-2 on Wednesday.

Forrest (5-0) took an early 2-0 lead at Niceville on an Emma Stacey two-run base hit before the Lady Eagles scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth to take a 3-2 lead.

In the top of the fifth, Jasmine Runk's RBI base hit tied the game at 3-3 and Carson Warner gave Forrest the lead for good with an RBI base knock.

The Lady Rockets would build the lead to 11-3 before Niceville scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh to cement the final score.

The three Forrest seniors from left, Amanda Patterson (8), Kelsie Darnell (22) and Piper Elmore (00) come to home plate before the Lady Rockets beat Rutherford, Florida 5-2 Wednesday night to complete the Panama City sweep for the second year in a row.

On Wednesday, Forrest took on longtime Florida opponent Rutherford where they won a wild 10-6 affair last year to finish the Panama City sweep.

This time the Lady Rockets took an early 3-2 and stayed in control, winning by a 5-3 margin.

The highlight of the game was a triple play turned by the defending Class-A state champion Lady Rocket, who return to the diamonds of Tennessee on Monday when they travel to Fayetteville City for a District 9-A tussle.
