Forrest completed its third sweep of the regular season series in four years over Eagleville, taking an 11-1 six-inning, run-rule win Wednesday night at Chapel Hill.

After bashing 18 hits in their 14-4 win at Eagleville Tuesday night, the Rockets pounded out 13 more hits off four Eagle hurlers in the contest.

Perfect at the plate

Boone Sweeney turned in a perfect 3-for-3 performance at the plate, driving in a pair of runs for Forrest, who busted open a close 2-1 game with a five-run fifth inning.

Landon Jones drills an RBI triple down the right field line in the sixth inning.

Austin Welty went 1-for-3 with a walk and two RBI, Slayton Wild was 2-for-3 with a base on balls, two runs scored and two RBI and Landon Jones also had two hits and a walk in four at bats and drove home two runs.

Jonathan Lykins went the distance on the mound, tossing all seven innings as he scattered seven Eagleville hits, struck out four and walked zero Eagleville hitters.

Sweeney and Brewer drove home one run apiece on second inning doubles to open the scoring and the only other run scored over the first four innings was on an RBI fielder's choice by Eagleville's Jake Bolden.

Meanwhile, Lykins allowed one base runner the remainder of the contest.

Hit fest

In the bottom of the fifth inning the Forrest bats came alive, but they had to wait until there was two outs in the stanza to explode.

Brewer started the rally with a base on balls and Landon Jones reached on an error, sending Brewer to third base.

Payton Sisk came in to run for Jones before Sweeney singled to center field, driving in Brewer to make it 3-1.

Kain Harrison came in as a pinch runner for Sweeney and he scored along with Sisk after Wild banged a single, stole second and scored on a Lykins base hit.

Michael Dyer ran for Lykins and Austin Welty walked before Luke Cunningham drove in Dyer to make it a 7-1 ballgame.

Lykins put away the Eagles in the top of the sixth and Brewer reached on an Eagleville error, leading off the home half of the frame.

On the move

Landon Jones nailed a shot down the right field line and he was humming like a diesel as he trucked into third base with a triple, making it 8-1.

Austin Welty ends the contest with a two-run double in the bottom of the sixth inning for the Rockets, who moved to 6-0 in District 9-A play.

A walk to Sweeney was followed by an RBI base hit by Wild and after Cunningham walked with one out, Welty ended the contest with a double into the left field gap.

The Rockets have a home and away series with Moore County on Monday and Tuesday with Rockets traveling to Lynchburg first before the Raiders finish up the series at Chapel Hill.
