The CMS Bulldogs and the Huntland Hornets met in a rare Monday night matchup at Frog Bottom and it was all Cornersville, which routed the visitors 48-0.

The star of the game was Brady Calahan, who rushed for 70 yards and two touchdowns, returned a punt 54 yards for a score and swiped two passes and returned both for touchdowns.

The Cornersville defense was superb, surrendering just 77 yards in the shutout as the Bulldogs moved to 3-0 on the season.

Alex Hillard (11) tackles the Huntland ball carrier in the back field in the first quarter during the Bulldogs 48-0 win over the Hornets at Frog Bottom.

Huntland ran 40 plays on offense compared to only 10 for the Bulldogs, who used the big play to win the game.

After stopping Huntland on the first offensive series, Calahan returned the ensuing punt for the score and he followed with a pass reception from Jackson Farler for the two-point conversion.

Huntland gave the ball back to the Dawgs after four plays and on the next snap, Calahan raced 41-yards for a TD.

James Mathis found Calahan for two-point play and the Bulldogs led 16-0 with 3:44 remaining in the first quarter.

Huntland moved the ball on its next series, but the drive was spoiled when Calahan picked off a pass and went 50 yards for the score.

The PAT was no good and on Huntland's next offensive series, the Bulldogs' defense came up huge again on a fourth down stop with 2:45 remaining in the first half.

James Mathis races 52 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter.

Three plays into the ensuing Cornersville drive, Mathis galloped 52-yards for a touchdown and Calahan added the PAT kick, making it 29-0 at the half.

Huntland got the ball first in the second half and they were stymied again, giving the ball back to the Bulldogs on downs at the Hornets' 37-yard line.

Calahan scored moments later on a 29-yard run and he put the icing on the cake with 2:33 remaining in the third quarter, picking off another pass and running in for the touchdown.

Calahan kicked the PAT and Cornersville went to the reserves for the rest of the evening.

Quarterback Rhett Woodard came up with the final CMS touchdown when he raced 43-yards on a broken play for a touchdown in the fourth quarter.
