Honor Flight Applications

Wednesday, February 15, 2017

Honor Flight of Middle Tennessee reminds area veterans that applications for honor flights are currently being accepted.

Honor Flight is a program that flies veterans, free of charge, to Washington, D.C. to visit their respective war memorials.

World War II veterans, being older, are given priority, along with Korean War and terminally ill veterans from all wars.

Vietnam veterans who are rated with a 70 percent or higher level of disability due to exposure to Agent Orange have recently been added to the program as well.

Since 2005, Honor Flight has flown almost 160,000 veterans on one-day trips to visit their national war memorials, in order to provide “honor and closure.”

Applications are taken year-round with flights occurring in the spring and fall.

More information and applications can be found online at honorflight.org or, locally, contact Brian Pullam at (931)637-8638.
