Febrienne Box, Choir Director at Lewisburg Middle School, has a great group of students in her choir. Several students prepared an audition piece in Latin and were recorded. The recordings were taken to a school in Murfreesboro and a panel of choir directors or judges, listened to the auditions. These judges did not know who the students were nor did they know which school the student was representing. The students were scored on a number of criteria and then the top scoring students from each section (soprano, alto, tenor, or bass) were selected.

Five students from Lewisburg Middle School were chosen out of over 300 students from across middle Tennessee to participate in the Middle Tennessee Honors Choir. These five students are: 7th grade, Gracie Steely; 8th grade, Justice Bogle, John Long, Bella Tepedino, and Bryson Whaley.

The students rehearsed with a group of approximately 150 of the top middle school choir students from middle Tennessee and performed in a concert with the Middle Tennessee Elementary Honors Choir.

Congratulations to these five students and to Ms. Box’s choir. They do a great job representing Lewisburg Middle School.By Patty Blackburn
