Arbor Day declared for Lewisburg

Wednesday, March 1, 2017
Lewisburg Mayor Jim Bingham (seated) signs a proclamation declaring Friday, March 3 as Arbor Day in the city. In Tennessee, Arbor Day falls on the first Friday in March, as opposed to national Arbor Day which occurs on the last Friday in April. The city will mark the occasion with a tree planting at Marshall County High School on Friday. Friday is also the deadline to enter the Lewisburg Tree City USA board’s Big Ole Tree contest, for the largest trees of each species in the city.
