Local Lions Club gathers to give awards, and help children with eyesight

Lewisburg Lion Lewis Cope, second from left, was awarded the Melvin Jones Fellowship by Lion District Governor Phil Barnes. He received the award in recognition of his service to Lionism. Named for the founder of Lions Clubs International, Melvin Jones, the fellowship is one of the Lion Clubs International Foundationís highest recognitions, honoring the commitment to humanitarian service. A Lion for 25 years, Lewis received a commemorative plaque and lapel pin acknowledging his dedication to the foundationís humanitarian goals.
