James Richard Cashion

Mr. James Richard Cashion, age 84, of Lewisburg, died Wednesday, Mar. 29, 2017, at his residence.

Mr. Cashion was a native of Lincoln County, the son of the late Grady and Alberta Irene Cannon Cashion. He retired from Sanford after 25 years as a supervisor and was employed by Genesco for 18 years. He served his country in the Army and coached Little League baseball for 30 years and was a member of the Westvue Church of Christ.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Eddie Cashion; five sisters, Mamie Skinner, Ruth Hunt, Sara Lee, Elaine Beech, and Dianne Cashion; and one brother, Jerrel Cashion. He is survived by his wife, Josephine Cashion; one son, Donald Cashion of Belfast; and one brother, Ted Cashion of Lewisburg; five grandchildren, Brandy Keaton, Alison Crabtree, Brad Cashion, Matthew Cashion, Laura Beth Brown, and Christi Allen; and nine great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, Mar. 31, 2017, at 2 p.m. at Westvue Church of Christ, with burial to follow in Sunset Park. Honorary pallbearers are the Martin Whittlers and former baseball players that played for him.

Visitation with the family began on Thursday evening, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. from the chapel of London Funeral Home, and on Friday at Westvue from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour.
