Annie Buttrey Walker
Annie Buttrey Walker, age 80 of Verona, died Tuesday, Mar. 28, 2017, in Marshall Medical Center.
Mrs. Walker was a native of Williamson County, TN, daughter of the late Leechy, Sr. and Vera Ann Harrison Buttrey. As Annie wrote in a scribbled note, “after graduating high school I worked at the Baptist Publishing House and Rich Printing during their busy season. My first check was very big. It was eleven dollars. I continued working in Nashville for ten more years at Castner Knott in accounts payable before I married.” Annie was a housewife, mother, grandmother and member of the Berea Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, L.C. Buttrey, Harvey J. Buttrey and Titus L. Buttrey and her husband, Hill Walker in 2006. She is survived by her daughter, Dona Walker Haywood and husband, David of Cornersville; son, Philip Walker and wife, Marissa of FL; three sisters, Thelma Nash and Hazel Buttrey both of Fairview, and Joyce Cathey of Bon Aqua; three grandchildren, Maria Wilson of Whitwell, TN, Alexandra and Nicholas Walker both of FL; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, April 1, 2017, at 10 a.m. from London Funeral Home with burial to follow in Berea Cemetery.
The family will be at London Funeral Home Friday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. for visitation.
