The Forrest Players will conclude its 2016-2017 season with a terrific production of Charlotte’s Web this weekend, April 8 and 9. The play is adapted from E.B. White’s classic novel by Earl Hamner Jr. and includes the radiant music and lyrics of Richard and Robert Sherman. Many will be familiar with the story of Wilbur and his struggle to avoid the chopping block. With the help a young girl named Fern and a humble spider named Charlotte, his wish to live just might have a chance.

Making up the cast and crew for Charlotte’s Web are a great group of students. Ally Amoroso, Annrose Bell, Zachary Blocker, Macy Brown, Abigail Capps, Jonathan Daughrity, Pilar Garcia, Micah Toombs, and Joseph Waring will have their stage debut with this production. Joining them on stage will be returning actors Austin Duvall, Divi Ferris, Ryan Goss, Evelyn Gryglewski, Alex Jordan, Ty Lampley, Dalton Loveless, Peyton Southworth, Alex VanSledright, Elena Waters, and Abe Watters. While the actors may have stage presence, the technicians have brought just as much magic to Charlotte’s Web. Lighting and sound are being run by Hope Giles and Philip Randall. Handling the daunting task of turning people into animals are Abrianna Hepler, Isabelle Marino, and Tabby Payne.

If you are looking for a family friendly way to spend the weekend, set aside a couple of hours to visit Zuckerman’s famous pig at the Forrest School theatre. Tickets will be available at the door and are $5 for adults and $3 for students/children.
