Mac Fowler, age 86 of Murfreesboro formerly of Lewisburg, died Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at St. Thomas Rutherford County Hospital.
Mr. Fowler was a native of Lewisburg, and he was the son of the late Elbert McCord, Sr. and Bonnie Lee Neil Fowler. He was a retired Director of Computer Systems Analysis for the Department of Defense and served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member of the Murfreesboro 1st United Methodist Church and was a life long member of the Lewisburg 1st United Methodist Church.
Mac is survived by his wife, Peggy Martin Poarch Fowler of Murfreesboro, three daughters, Edie Fowler of Pigeon Forge, TN, Peggy Fowler (Hal) Floyd of Rockmart, GA, Sari Fowler (Bill) Hunt of Brentwood, TN, one son, Mathew McCord (Corby) Fowler of Woodberry, TN, three step sons, Marty (Melissa) Poarch of Murfreesboro, Don Winkelman of VA, and Bill (Val) Winkelman of WV, and step daughter, Susan (Jerry) Bangs of Columbia, Missouri. Eighteen grandchildren and twenty two great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, April 14, 2017 at 3 p.m. at the Lewisburg 1st United Methodist Church. Following the service Mr. Fowler’s body will be cremated.
The family will be at the church for visitation on Friday from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m.
