“April 6 was a special day at CHES,” the elementary school’s Computer Lab instructor said. “The first ever ‘Paws Fur Reading’ occurred. CHES welcomed Ryder, an Australian shepherd that had an accident with a car, to the school. Ryder had surgery on his leg, which requires remaining in his crate for several weeks to allow healing. Some of the students read to Ryder to assist in his therapy. These students help occupy Ryder while confined in his crate.
