Earth Day events in Lewisburg

Earth Day is celebrated by more than a billion people each year. Different events all over the world are held to show support for clean air, land, and water. Columbia State Community College-Lewisburg site and the Marshall County Memorial Library have joined together to celebrate Earth Day in Lewisburg, TN.

On Saturday, April 22, 2017, at Columbia State Community College, 980 South Ellington Pkwy., Lewisburg, TN, at 10 a.m., Doug Giles, Environmental Educator, will present “Don’t be Trashy.” Activities after this presentation includes: Earth Day Chalk on the Walk, Geocaching 101 (presentation and walk), and a bike ride with Mayor Jim Bingham at noon. Mayor Bingham and other bike riders will peddle to the Marshall County Memorial Library for their Earth Day program at 1 p.m.

The Marshall County Memorial Library, located at 310 Old Farmington Road, Lewisburg, TN, will then present “Earth Day Crafternoon” at 1 p.m. Old plastic bottles will be recycled into a variety of pretty and useful items. You may bring your own bottles to create new and beautiful keepsakes. Bottles will be provided for you as long as supplies last.

Kids and adults are welcome to attend these Earth Day events.
