Marshall Rangers Camp 297 celebrates Confederate History Month

Marshall County Mayor Joe Boyd Liggett presented members of the Sons of Confederate Veterans a proclamation recognizing April as Confederate History Month.

Recently, Marshall County Mayor bestowed an honor to the Confederate history buffs in the area by signing a proclamation.

The document reads:

WHEREAS, April is National Confederate History Month; and

WHEREAS, the members of the Marshall Rangers Camp 297 play a vital role in the preserving and recognizing the Confederate History of Marshall County; and

WHEREAS, they have taken pictures and marked memorials to help recognize this history; and

WHEREAS, it is important that all citizens know and understand that the preservation of Marshall County’s history is an important part of past and future history of the county.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Joe Boyd Liggett, Mayor of Marshall County, Tennessee do proclaim April 2017 as National Confederate History Month and do hereby recognize the importance of the history and preservation of Marshall County, TN.

In witness thereof I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of Marshall County to be affixed.
