Cash stash goes missing?
The search continues for a pair who are accused of stealing almost $200,000 from a Cornersville man.
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department would like to speak with Charlene Small, 44, and Clint Letchworth, 25, regarding allegations of theft on Thursday.
Jeff Corbin filed a report on Thursday alleging that the two had stolen cash, prescription pills, and car keys from him.
According to the initial report filed at the Sheriff’s office, Corbin and Small had been in a relationship for the past four years.
Corbin reported that on Wednesday evening the two had argued and, when he woke up on Thursday morning, Small, along with her medications and cats, were gone.
Also allegedly missing were several sets of keys to cars Corbin owned, prescription medications of his, and $187,600 in cash that he reportedly kept hidden inside the driver’s side door of his truck.
Gone along with Small was her nephew, Letchworth, who had been staying with the couple for the past several weeks.
The pair is believed to have been driving a 1993 model maroon Jeep Cherokee that Corbin had reportedly purchased just days before.
Corbin’s daughters took to Facebook accusing the pair of theft and posting their pictures in an attempt to track them down.
Small posted pictures as well on Facebook of tattoos the pair had just gotten.
Sheriff’s Department Detective Tony Nichols said that the department wanted to talk to the pair to hear their side of the story but that no arrest warrants had yet been issued.
He said that leads had been coming into the department but the pair had not yet been found.
Anyone with information should call Nichols at the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department at (931) 359-6122.
