Geiling

An apparent road rage incident on Saturday left a Lewisburg man facing serious charges in a Franklin court.

Eric Geiling, 49, was charged with aggravated assault after he allegedly pulled a gun on a motorcyclist on I-65 South.

The Franklin Police Department stated that the details of the incident were not available to the public due to the pending criminal charges but offered a broad outline of the events in a public statement.

Geiling stopped behind the motorcyclist who had pulled over to the shoulder of the interstate.

Geiling, according to the report, approached the man with a gun in his hand and threatened “to shoot and kill him.”

While no further details of what had transpired were available from Franklin Police, Geiling was apparently “upset over how the driver was operating the motorcycle.”

Geiling left the scene before police arrived, but was reportedly picked up by Marshall County Sheriff’s deputies and transported to Williamson County to answer the charge of aggravated assault.

His bond was set at $9,000.
