Bridge dedication ceremony for Army Specialist killed in service
A bridge dedication ceremony for Specialist Jeremy Tomlin, 22, is scheduled for Monday, July 10 at noon in front of the Community Elementary School at 335 Highway 41A N in Unionville, TN.
“Jeremy was a son, brother and husband who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country,” said Governor Bill Haslam, memorializing the fallen soldier.
Tomlin died when the tail section broke off the Black Hawk UH 60 in which he was serving as crew chief, causing the helicopter to crash onto a golf course in Leonardtown, MD on April 17.
Tomlin was assigned to C Company, 12th Aviation Battalion out of Fort Belvoir, Virginia after previously serving in Germany.
State Senator Jim Tracy made the request to honor the life of Tomlin before the General Assembly, as Jeremy grew up in the community and his final resting place is nearby.
