Belfast Baptist to celebrate “Thank You, Lord” Day July 30
Music and praise will fill the air of Belfast Baptist Church on Sunday, July 30, as the church celebrates its first annual “Thank You, Lord” Day. A special morning service will begin at 10:45 a.m. and will feature a mini-concert by Nashville recording artist Ann Hartmann. Also, during the service, the church will observe open communion.
Following the morning service, the congregation and visitors will gather in the church’s fellowship building to have a “dinner on the ground” meal which will be provided by the church and its members. A special “Thank You” ceremony will take occur before the meal is eaten, said the church’s pastor, Daniel L. Johnson.
After the meal, there will be a special afternoon concert beginning at 1:15 p.m. The concert will feature Mrs. Hartmann and the award-winning Bluegrass Gospel group, Leipers Fork Bluegrass Band. The concert is free, and the public is invited to attend.
Leipers Fork Bluegrass Band is an outstanding group of musicians that was formed in November of 2005 after two men - Jim Gordon and Buddy Jones - met during the last bluegrass festival that was held in Leipers Fork, Tennessee. Both men were inspired to put together a Bluegrass Group that consisted of members who were born again believers and possessed the professional vocal and musical talents it takes to present family entertainment in the genres of bluegrass/country and gospel bluegrass music.
Since that time, they have performed throughout the United States, playing at fairs, festivals, churches, and other family venues, including the stage of the Grand Ole Opry. They have shared the stage and performed on the same shows with many well-known artists, including Wynona Judd, Marty Raybon, Dailey and Vincent, Mike Snyder, Confederate Railroad, Sweethearts of the Rodeo, T. Graham Brown, Palmetto State Quartet, The Fox Brothers, and many others.
Mrs. Hartmann is Christian singer/songwriter/speaker who focuses her talents on spreading the good news of Jesus and God’s unconditional love. Her passion is using music and words to inspire, encourage, and heal the weary soul.
As an artist, Mrs. Hartmann has recorded three projects of her original songs, Love’s A Boomerang, Look Up and Believers Believe, and a favorite hymns project, Hymns For Him.
As a writer, her songs have been recorded by numerous artists, including Mark Lowry, The Fox Brothers, René Jones, Paula Slow, Ken Byford, Sharie Conard, Dianne Sherrill, Amazed, Sam Sampson, and many more. S“We are excited to have the opportunity to have these exciting, talented artists to be with us on our ‘Thank You, Lord Day,’” Johnson said. “Our church truly does have a lot to be thankful for; and, this celebration is a way to let our community and surrounding communities know that we are grateful. We invite everyone to come and celebrate with us.”
