The Lewisburg Housing Authority held their annual Back to School Bash on Saturday, July 22, at the George W. Turner Center on Silver Street. Lewisburg Chapel United Methodist Church arrived with a 19 foot inflatable slide for the kids to play on. Frank Sullivan with the Salvation Army had the hamburgers and hotdogs for the day. Mercy Community Healthcare, TN Department of Children’s Services, Centerstone and Marshall County Health Department all had booths with helpful information, and the Lewisburg Fire and Police Departments gave the kids some goodies. Two hundred backpacks with school supplies were distributed to the kids and 60 lucky kids got a beanbag seat, donated by Comfort Research. LHA expressed their thanks to the businesses, banks, and individuals who made the event possible, especially Charles Hill (Sanford), Judy Stevenson and her church family, and Jerrie Henry, as well as the LHA maintenance department for grilling on such a hot day.
