Officers of the Altruist Club of Lewisburg recently presented a check to Christian Braden, the club’s 2017 scholarship recipient. For over 40 years the Altruist Club has annually presented a scholarship to a graduating minority student from Marshall County. The recipient is selected based on academic achievement, level of school and community involvement, and high character.

Christian recently graduated from Marshall County High School where he was a member of the Beta Club, Leo Club, Future Business Leaders of America, Tri-M Honors Society and the National Honors Society. Singing with the acclaimed Marshall County Concert Choir was his favorite and most exciting activity. Christian especially enjoyed performing and competing against top choirs in Middle Tennessee, and he received numerous awards and honors for his musical achievements.

An active member of Greater First Baptist Church of Lewisburg, Christian has been engaged in the youth ministry, the media ministry, singing and several other activities. Christian will attend the University of the South at Sewanee, Tenn., where he will major in music with a double minor in business and computer science. Christian is the son of Chris and Tyra Braden.
