Lewisburg resident Matt Webster took this photo of the eclipse during the period of totality after traveling north to the Gordonsville area. With schools out, many Marshall Countians traveled the short distance north to view the total eclipse. Coverage in the county reached between 98 and 99 percent. Despite clouds in parts of the area interfering with viewing the sun at totality, the experience left most who viewed it awestruck. The next total eclipse to pass over the United States is only seven years away in 2024 and already people are planning to attend.
