County GOP turns out for Valentine
The Marshall County Republican Party packed the house on Thursday night for their annual President’s Day dinner.
Stacey Cothran, the current county party chair, described the turnout as “huge,” especially, she added, since this is a non-election year.
In part, the turnout was driven by the keynote speaker for the evening, Nashville-based conservative radio talk show host and author, Phil Valentine.
Valentine’s radio show is syndicated nationally on more than 100 radio stations, and he was recently ranked among the 100 most influential talk radio commentators.
“He did a good job,” said County Trustee and former county chair Scottie Poarch. “He’ll get you fired up.”
He said that Valentine had given credit to Lewisburg and Marshall County on his radio show Monday for the turnout and evening overall.
Poarch estimated at least 300 at the event, the county party’s big annual fund raiser.
“It was fantastic,” he said. “It was one of our best.”
