NHC Oakwood is proud to announce that our Partners have once again above and beyond. Fifteen of our Partners took the extra step to become Certified by the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners, as Certified Dementia Practitioners.

Our Partners, of NHC Oakwood, are the first in our South Central Region to earn this Certification, making us the first Center to have multiple Partners from ALL disciplines earn their CDP. This is a testament to our Partners’ desire to Care in a Better Way, Day by Day.

The Council was formed to promote standards of excellence in dementia education to professions and other caregivers who provide services to dementia clients. As the number of people with Alzheimer’s and other dementias continues to increase worldwide, the NCCDP strives to develop and encourage comprehensive standards of excellence in direct-care skills, education, and sensitivity in the area of dementia care.

We are very excited to re-invest in our Partners and our Patients, by offering this certification to all of our Partners. After this first class, many of our other Partners are eager to also become Certified Dementia Practitioners.
