2017 Tennessee Statesmanís Dinner

Congressman Scott DesJarlais was pleased to nominate Scottie Poarch of Marshall County as 2017 Statesman of the Year.

Mr. Poarch and his wife Sandra traveled to Nashville recently to receive the award, honoring his contributions to civic life in Tennessee.

Scottie has been a crucial member of the Marshall County community. In 2016, he successfully campaigned for Marshall County Trustee and has assisted many Republican candidates throughout the state.

Rep. DesJarlais praised Mr. Poarch at the event, saying, ďIt is my privilege to select Scottie Poarch as the Fourth Districtís Statesman of the Year. I value his integrity, commitmment to limited government and individual liberty, and especially his friendship. Tennessee is lucky to have him. Thank you for everything you do, Scottie.Ē

In Congress, Rep. DesJarlais is a member of the House Armed Services Committee, as well as the House Agriculture Committee, helping to improve national security and the economy.
