Lona Dolly Glascock

Lona Dolly Glascock, age 94 of Lewisburg, died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2017, in Vanderbilt Medical Center.

Mrs. Glascock was a native of Laurel, MS, born on July 3, 1923, to William Edward and Sarah Ada Shows Parrish. She served her country as a nurse in the U.S. Army WAC during WWII. She and her late husband, Clebert were charter members of East Commerce Baptist Church and the Marshall County Square dancers. Lona retired from Oakwood Hall Nursing Home where she had worked for many years. She made Lewisburg her home for over sixty years and was recently living in Spring Hill at the Arbors of Willow Springs.

In addition to her parents, and husband, she was preceded in death by her eldest son, Allen Glascock and sister, Linnie Lee Archey.

She is survived by one son, Carl (Kay) Glascock; one granddaughter, Sarah (Cody) White; great grandson, Lawson White all of Lewisburg; sister, Anna Shuma of Anaheim, CA; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2017, at 11 a.m. from the chapel of London Funeral Home with burial to follow in Lone Oak Cemetery with military honors.

The family will be at London Funeral Home Tuesday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. for visitation.
