Carolyn “Cookie” Tankersley is part of the South Central TN Workforce Alliance as an instructor through Project Learn Adult Education.

She is a highly skilled instructor who has taught Adult Education in Lewisburg for over 10 years. On August 31, Tankersley was presented with the TN Adult Education Teacher of the Month award by Adult Education State Director Franklin D. Johnson.

In attendance were the Executive Director of the South Central TN Workforce Alliance, Jan McKeel, SCTWA AE District Coordinator, Marcey Taylor, Marshall County Joint Economic and Community Development Board Director, Mike Wiles and several students and supporters.

Tankersley believes that teaching students is her ministry. She knows the lasting effect earning a diploma has on the students and their families. At times when a student’s motivation may begin to falter, Tankersley is there to keep them going. Every student is inspired by her caring nature.
