Shooter from May incident arrested

It didnít end like police were expecting, but the Lewisburg Police Department has one less fugitive to worry about.

Tremel Jennings, 34, of Columbia, turned himself in to police in Lewisburg on Monday.

Jennings was being sought by law enforcement for a May 26 shooting on the 1400 block of Old Farmington Road.

Jennings is charged with entering a home and firing multiple shots, striking Eric Young five times.

Young was airlifted to Vanderbilt Trauma Center in critical condition and was placed in an induced coma, at the time, to prevent further internal injury.

Despite his injuries, Young has recovered well for the incident.

He was able to identify Jennings as the shooter and a warrant for first degree attempted murder was issued for his arrest.

Law enforcement agencies across the state were trying to locate Jennings on the warrant.

Jennings was booked into jail and a bond of $500,000 was set.

He is due to be arraigned in court later in September.
