Beautiful weather, big crowds, champion goats, and big-name entertainment added up to another successful Goats, Music, and More Festival.

Lewisburg City Recorder Pam Davis, who also co-chairs the annual event, was very pleased with 15th edition of Lewisburg’s signature event.

Davis said that she thought this year was one of the best that they’ve ever had.

She said that the feedback she had gotten so far from vendors and artists had been overwhelmingly positive. The food vendors, especially, reported a good weekend, she said.

She said that rough estimates for the evening concert crowds, John Michael Montgomery on Friday and Lonestar on Saturday, were roughly 6,000 and 8,000, respectively.

Thousands more attendees certainly passed through Rock Creek Park over the weekend to shop or play or to eat without staying for the late shows.

The judging tents for the goat competition were full this year too, as the various classes and breeds competed for the title and the judge, as they always do so well, explained to the crowd why they liked one goat over another.

Despite the size of the gathering, Davis, as well as the Marshall County Emergency Management Agency overseeing safety at the event, reported no major problems over the weekend.
