As the holiday season approaches, Lewisburg can look forward to an early Christmas present, or perhaps a late Halloween treat.

The Marshall County High School Chorus is presenting their annual show at the Dixie Theatre in Lewisburg this weekend.

“The Beat Goes On” features an hour of rock and roll classics, covering everything from Elvis’ “Hound Dog’ to Queen’s “We Will Rock You.”

The 75 students involved in the program this year have each been selected after a rigorous audition process.

The evening promises “over 70 voices, choreography, and exuberant joy,” as well as an opportunity to support some of MCHS’ highest achieving performers.

The chorus program at MCHS, under the direction of Elise Dumser, has produced selections to Mid-State and All-State choirs for the past 20 years.

The annual show serves as the fundraiser for the chorus program at MCHS. This year the funds are earmarked for new microphones and music.

Three performances will be offered. Shows on Friday, Nov. 3, and Saturday, Nov. 4, begin at 7 p.m. On Sunday, a 2 p.m. matinée will be offered.

Tickets are available from any member of the chorus or from the box office at the Dixie, opening one hour prior to each show.

Cost for tickets is $10 and, in order to limit expenses, payment is cash only.
