Sen. Tracy thanks constituents, local officials

Wednesday, November 15, 2017

I want to take the opportunity to thank the people of Senate District 14 for entrusting me to represent them in the Tennessee General Assembly for the past 13 years. Words could never be enough to express how much I appreciate the valuable relationships that I have developed with so many of my constituents while serving in the State Senate.

From talking with constituents about the many important issues that Tennessee faces, to working with communities to bring new jobs to our citizens, it was a pleasure to serve in this capacity. Possibly one of my favorite things about being a state senator was successfully helping citizens who were struggling to access vital services with a state agency. Seeing the difference that such assistance can make in an individualís life was definitely one of the most rewarding aspects of the job.

I am also very grateful to have worked with local officials in Bedford, Lincoln, Moore, Marshall and Rutherford Counties to make sure that things happened successfully for our district. I have a deep sense of pride being associated with these individuals who commit themselves to the betterment of the community. It is that teamwork at all levels of government that helps to improve Tennesseeís communities and offers our children and grandchildren a brighter future.

I take the experience learned in representing the people of this district to my new role as State Director of Rural Development for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. My goals in the Rural Development office will be similar to my goals as state senator: Serve the people in a manner that best meets their needs and work hard to improve the quality of life for future generations of Tennesseans.

Again, thank you for the privilege of serving as your state senator. May the Lord bless you and our great State of Tennessee.
